The Event Horizon
Well we have a painted nursery, and the crib is assembled. There is now a room in our house dedicated to the baby. It feels weird and pleasant all at the same time. It's a great relief to have the nursery prepared, but each item that gets ticked off seems to bring us that much closer to what I have just now decided to call the "event horizon".
The event horizon is that moment beyond which we can't see clearly. I would say that moment would be when Kye goes into labor. We have some idea of what will happen, but it is different for every woman. We can watch all the birthing videos we want (which we did today in class), but our child's birth will probably be completely different. Also the time after the baby is born is very unclear right now. We really aren't sure if we are going to get the "good" baby, or the baby with the dreaded colic.
I'm ready. I'm just starting to get nervous.

Dear Kylene and Dave,
Whatever happens, you will get through it with flying colors!!
Also, I'm sending lots of Reiki!
Love,
Mom C.
